The David Scott School (part of the Brotherhood of St Laurence) is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Integrated Somatic Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Wellbeing & Engagement Team.

This is a unique opportunity to deliver body-based therapeutic support to young people aged 15–19 who have experienced trauma, neurodivergence, ADHD, anxiety and complex wellbeing challenges — helping them build safety, regulation and resilience through evidence-based somatic practices.

Location: Frankston 

Job Type: Permanent Part-Time working 22.08 hours a week 

Salary: $93,265-$109,967 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation. (pro-rata for part-time employment)

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing & Engagement, the Integrated Somatic Therapist will:

• Deliver individual and small-group somatic therapy sessions
• Support students with trauma histories, neurodivergence and ADHD through embodied, regulation-focused interventions
• Collaborate with counselling and wellbeing teams on short-term intervention plans
• Provide therapeutic insights for ILPs and student support plans
• Facilitate professional learning for staff on somatic approaches and regulation strategies
• Contribute to prevention programs and movement-based wellbeing initiatives
• Build relationships with families/carers and external providers to ensure continuity of care
• Participate actively in Clinical Review, Reflective Practice and team collaboration
• Uphold child safety, mandatory reporting and BSL values at all times

About You

You will be a reflective, collaborative practitioner with:

• Professional experience in somatic therapy or body-based trauma modalities
  (e.g., somatic experiencing, sensorimotor psychotherapy, movement/dance therapy)
• Strong understanding of trauma, adolescent development and neurodivergence-affirming practice
• Experience supporting “at risk” or disengaged young people in education, health or community settings
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and boundary-setting skills
• A commitment to child safety, inclusion and cultural safety

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Somatic Psychotherapy, Creative Arts Therapy, Counselling, Psychology, OT (somatic focus) or similar
• Postgraduate training in somatic or body-based therapy (highly regarded)
• Membership/eligibility with PACFA, ANZACATA, AHPRA or equivalent
• WWCC and Police Check (supported by BSL)
