Finance & Operations Support Officer (HIPPY)
At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Finance & Operations Support Officer (HIPPY) to join our dedicated HIPPY team.
Location: Fitzroy
Job Type: Fixed-term part-time (0.8FTE) working 30 hours per week
Salary: $78,862.07 to $84,561.95 per annum (pro-rata), based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.

About the role
This part-time position will support the Senior Financial and Operations Officer with financial and operational activities, including liaising with HIPPY partners and responding to queries about their funding and financial reports. This role also involves proactive support for the HIPPY financial operation, including budget preparation, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
The role works closely with the Senior HIPPY Finance & Operations Officer to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance with organisational and funding requirements.
This is a junior finance role with responsibility for foundational accounting and administrative tasks.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience:
Career Experience:
- Experience in basic accounting, bookkeeping, or finance administration.
- Experience in accounts payable/receivable processing.
- Experience with reconciliations and financial record keeping.
- Experience using accounting software and Excel.
- Prior exposure to budgeting and forecasting principles and practices
- Ability to gather information to provide financial advice and analysis to non-financial managers and senior managers
- Proven ability to work and maintain relationships with different stakeholders
Personal Qualities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing tasks
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and seek guidance when needed
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking ability

- A commitment to maintaining and supporting child safety, equity, inclusion, and cultural safety
Qualifications/Other:
- Certificate in Accounting & Bookkeeping or Bachelors Degree in Accounting /Finance/Commerce
- We will also look at those at candidates who are embarking on Professional Accounting qualifications
