Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics

At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics to join our dedicated team.

Location: Kensington

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time working 38 hours per week

Salary: $97,971.00 - $102,068.58 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.

About the role

The role is responsible for managing and continuously improving the operational performance of both the Kensington and Noble Park warehouses. This includes ensuring full compliance with site Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements, overseeing the efficient processing/sorting and allocation of donations and managing logistics operations to support product requirements at stores. The position also leads and monitors the performance of van drivers, ensuring transport activities are conducted safely, efficiently and in line with organisational standards and customer requirements. The incumbent will implement robust processes, optimise workflows, and foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement across all aspects of warehouse, logistics, product supply chain and site operations.

  • Lead the activities of site supervisors at Kensington and Noble Park with indirect leadership of warehouse teams (sorting, warehousing and transport)
  • Provide input into the budgetary process and take appropriate actions to ensure profit and expense budgets are met
  •  
    Refine existing warehouse systems and processes for the sorting and allocation of donations
  • Manage the relationship with transport companies in the efficient routing and conduct of transport activities

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant qualifications in warehouse, supply chain, transport or logistics
  • Relevant experience within the apparel industry and/or charitable retail
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding warehouse and transport environment, systems, processes, equipment and plant
  • Demonstrable experience with continuous improvement techniques, conducting root cause analysis and process improvement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate to budgetary requirements
  • Expertise and competency in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
