ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

As a Early Years Coordinator (EYC), you are responsible for managing and delivering Partner in the Community early childhood approach in a defined geographical area. You will form part of a small specialist team delivering office, phone and community based family centred information, assessments, planning and support services in line with the NDIS early childhood approach.

As a Early Years Coordinator (EYC), you will work with children with developmental delay and/or disability and their families, together with their community, with the goal of building strengths, developing opportunities and promoting access to the right supports at the right time.

Your role will assist families of children with developmental delay and/or disability to advocate, plan, organise and access the support and services needed to live an ordinary life. This includes assessing each person’s eligibility for the NDIS and (where eligible) helping to establish a NDIS plan with reasonable and necessary supports. Your role will engage with the local community to assist people with disability to access mainstream services regardless of NDIS eligibility.

As part of your new role, you will:

  • Support the delivery of a high quality early childhood service in accordance with the contract, program guidelines, early childhood best practice principles and relevant legislative obligations.
  • Implement and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, e.g. children’s service providers, peak bodies, advocacy groups, NDIA, with the aim of working collaboratively to ensure best practice is upheld and customers experience continuity of service.
  • Ensure practices and processes are in place to enable service level monitoring, evaluation and reporting against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and to ensure required outcomes and performance measures are met.
  • Work collaboratively with Early Childhood Managers to identify opportunities for quality improvement, service development and improvement and potential resource implications.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking applicants who have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma, Bachelor or equivalent) or experience working in the community with either children, families or individuals with disability.
  • Highly developed communication, listening and relationship building skills.
  • Experience in working alongside community towards common goals.
  • Confidence using a variety of computer programs and equipment and ability to enter information accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills to work honestly and in partnership with families regarding eligibility to NDIS supports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Knowledge of the early childhood approach and early childhood best practice principles is desirable.

Apply to join us and help lead this exciting new phase of Disability Services.

HOW TO APPLY
